JOB OPPORTUNITY: ADMIN SUPPORT WORKER

Join the Young Trustees Movement staff team as a Admin Support Worker, supporting the Head of the Young Trustees Movement, with specific administration needs.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

This role is an opportunity to join the Young Trustees Movement Staff team as a support staff to Mita, Head of the Young Trustees Movement who is Dyslexic, with specific administration needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Email organising: filing, prioritising, summarising tasks in order to facilitate Mita to take required action in a timely manner.

What this might look like: Creating a table that summarises the content or topic in an email, highlighting any questions you have in order to proceed, action or respond to the email, note the action/ decision needed to be taken and urgency/ priority of the task.

  • Drafting email response based on key organisational lines and policies

What this might look like: Writing emails based on key YTM documentation and highlighting to Mita where the draft is and a deadline to check and send it.

  • Transcribing  emails and concept ideas

What this might look like: listening to, and typing out, pre-recorded voice notes or copy spoken by Mita. Processing and editing these notes into a final copy to share with relevant audiences.

  • Calendar management

What this might look like: checking for availability, booking in ‘holding’ meeting slots, sharing available times with key stakeholders.

  • Proofreading documents

What this might look like: reading, editing documents to improve grammar, spelling, and highlighting points that need clarifying in order to be understood.

  • Other ad hoc admin tasks (as instructed and supported to do). For example, filling in an expense form.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:

We welcome experience in these areas from work settings, volunteering, studying, or other relevant personal experiences. Support worker experience or knowledge of Dyslexia isn’t necessary.

This role would be best suited for someone who:

  • Embodies our values (see here)

  • Is availability to work around the below schedule:

    • Fixed 1 hour per day (timing to be agreed between 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday)
    • 3 additional hours to be completed (this can be flexible to when works for you)
    • This role has flexible working hours and is parents/careers/people working/studying part-time.
  • Can work independently

  • Strong written communication (particularly grammar and spelling)

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Is able to process information and present it in clear and concise ways

  • Is able to ask questions to seek clarification when needed

  • Is proactive and takes the initiative

  • Can set up, improve and follow systems in order to ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner.

LOGISTICS:

Working hours: 8 hours per week to be agreed with Mita

Contract terms: Employee is self-employed and responsible for invoicing, tax etc.

Location: Home-based

Salary: £19 an hour
