Job Opportunity: Young Trustees Movement Programme Coordinator

We are recruiting for a Young Trustees Movement Programme Coordinator to support the growth and engagement with the movements online platforms and social media channels, alongside building and supporting a network of Young Trustees Movement Champions and Ambassadors. You will also have a significant role in creating external communications and carrying out administrative tasks. This is a varied role and will suit someone curious to learn and develop a range of new skills in an agile and friendly team .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on increasing engagement on digital hub platform (Mighty Networks) and social media.
  • Create content for the website, digital hub and social media including interviews and other blogs.
  • Be the first point of contact for the Young Trustee Movement.
  • Manage the website, uploading weekly content.
  • Support with other administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and events.

This role will be suitable for someone:

  • Passionate about inclusion
  • Can communicate in a way that is simple and engaging.
  • Has experience of, or is comfortable learning how to use various platforms including Zoom,  Mighty Networks,  HubSpot, Trello, Typeform, Hootsuite, WordPress.
  • Is curious about the Movement and learning how charities can better serve their mission (we don’t expect you to know it all already!)
  • Is comfortable managing multiple project areas and using project management systems to organise tasks
  • Can balance multiple workstreams, multiple deadlines and a wide range of tasks.
  • Who takes initiative and can work independently.
  • Has experience of volunteering for a charity (in any capacity).

We welcome experience in these areas from work settings, volunteering, studying or other relevant personal experiences.

In carrying out these duties the post holder will:

  • Work to protect the organisation’s reputation and principles
  • Treat internal and external contacts with dignity and respect and uphold the company’s equality of opportunity and dignity at work policies
  • Actively participate in appraisals, team meetings and meeting self-development needs
  • Undertake any other duties necessary to this post as reasonably required

Salary:

£27,000 in line with our Equality, Diversity and transparency commitments we will not be negotiating on this salary.

Contract Terms:

37.5 hours per week – 12 months fixed-term with a view to extending if possible. We have a flexible working policy and would welcome applicants looking for a flexible working arrangement such as a 4 day work week (pro rata) or well-structured job share applicants.

Location:

Home based, with the option to return to our offices in Kings Cross, London. We will consider flexible working and applicants from +/- 1 hour GMT time zone. However you must have the independent right to work in the UK, as unfortunately we cannot offer visa sponsorship of any kind at this time.

Working hours:

Occasional weekend and evening working is required and will be offset in time off in lieu.

Holiday Entitlement:

We offer 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, plus 2 extra volunteer days for trusteeship or other volunteer commitments.

About the Young Trustees Movement

Our mission is to:

  • Double the number of trustees aged 30 and under on charity boards across England and Wales by 2024. (while the spotlight is on the age factor, our movement is part of a wider call for diversity on boards).
  • Changing the image of what a trustee looks like, by shining a light on the impact made by young trustees.
  • Define what conditions allow for safe spaces where all young people can genuinely add their perspective.

To achieve this, we are:

  • Running a campaign that challenges the perceptions of who a trustee should be

  • Building the infrastructure to enable current Young Trustees to lead the movement across England and Wales

  • Creating physical cohort based training programmes

  • Host a digital hub that enables:

    • People to connect with and promote relevant Young Trustee opportunities

    • Those in the movement to have access to relevant resources

    • A place for current, former and aspiring young trustees to:

      • Have access to a supportive network of peers
      • Give feedback on ideas, resources and co-create solutions to problems
      • Develop skills and knowledge to be an effective trustee
