Meet Omolola, our new Administrative Assistant. With over a decade of executive support experience and a passion for inclusive leadership, she is committed to building systems that work for everyone and helping ensure young, underrepresented voices are not just welcomed into leadership, but actively shaping it.
I’ve spent most of my career supporting senior leaders and boards, from Vice Chancellors to government officials, in executive assistant roles that demanded strong organisation, discretion, and heart. But behind the admin has always been a deep sense of purpose: the belief that leadership should be accessible, diverse, and community-informed.
Over the years, I’ve also volunteered with organisations like the Disability Rights Advocacy Centre (DRAC), where I supported trauma-informed outreach and inclusive advocacy; the IChooseLife Foundation (ICLF), a youth-focused initiative promoting mental wellness, drug abuse prevention, and empowerment through sensitisation and education; and most recently with Supporting Healthcare Heroes UK (SHH-UK), where I currently serve as Board Administrator. At SHH-UK, I help coordinate internal systems, support governance processes, and contribute to communications, all aimed at uplifting healthcare workers living with Long COVID.
These experiences gave me first-hand insight into the power of giving people space to be seen and heard, especially those who are often overlooked.
Joining YTM is a natural next step in that journey. It gives me the opportunity to not only support a team doing powerful work, but to be part of a movement that reflects what I want to see in the world.
I come from a place where young people have long been told they’re “leaders of tomorrow”, yet tomorrow never quite seems to come. I want to see a difference and be part of building a future where the people who will live it are given the chance to help shape it. Not just to be told it’s theirs, but to have a real voice in shaping it.
That’s why I’ve always gravitated toward work and volunteer spaces that centre young people, those with lived experience, and community-led change. The decisions we make today affect generations to come. And it’s only right that those who will inherit the impact are part of shaping the direction
Making a difference. Even the small, behind-the-scenes kind, brings me joy. I love knowing that something I did, said, or organised helped someone else feel clearer, heard, or more at ease.
I also thrive in organised chaos (the good kind!). Give me a long to-do list and a big purpose, and I’ll find a way to bring calm and clarity. Whether it’s coordinating diaries, managing internal systems, or just making sure people have what they need. I enjoy creating smooth paths for others to do their best work.
And on a more personal note, I want to be a woman and mum my children, people, and future generations will be proud of, not just because I worked hard, but because I worked on things that mattered.
I’m really excited about learning more from the amazing team and contributing to systems and processes that allow the Movement to thrive. I’ve already been inspired by the care and clarity behind how YTM operates.
Beyond the day-to-day, I’d love to be involved in campaigning beyond our internal network. Helping raise awareness in communities that might not yet know they’re welcome in boardrooms. I especially want to reach young people from underrepresented backgrounds who deserve to know that leadership is for them too.
And of course, I can’t wait to support the brilliant work that YTM is doing in opening up trustee boards to younger, more diverse voices.
