Omolola Daniel

10 February 2026

We’re so happy to welcome Amber Amoo-Gottfried to the Young Trustees Movement as one of our trainers! Amber is a youth empowerment advocate and learning designer for social change. Their work combines intersectional, interdisciplinary, and intergenerational approaches to build inclusive social and climate action through a community-led approach

Amber – Trainer, Youth Leadership Advocate and Climate Changemaker

Amber is passionate about the power of young people for re-imagining ways of working towards better futures, and the pertinence for young people to have a meaningful voice in decision-making spaces.

Outside of their work with YTM, Amber is a UK Convenor for global 'inner to outer' resilience collective, Climate Youth Resilience, a Campaigns Associate for pan-European environmental anti-racism organisation, Union of Justice, a Board Trustee for British nature-connection collective, The Visionaries, and the Green Leader Youth Support Lead for well-loved local community woodworking organisation, Bristol Tree Craft

From Stasis to Movement: Why Young Trustees Matter

'Movement building' is, quite literally, about the transformation from a state of stasis and siloed paralysis, to movement and collective change-making. Where our ways of working are no longer serving communities and nature alike, young trustees can be a catalyst for that transformation: bringing fresh eyes to old problems in the charity sector.

'It’s natural to feel ‘imposter syndrome’ when stepping into civic leadership or governance work – especially as a young, queer and/or global majority person – and honestly, it’s often a reflection of your own resilience. It usually means that you care deeply, you're stepping outside your comfort zone into new spaces that challenge you, and you’re exercising your agency to, in turn, challenge those spaces to re-think which voices belong at the heart of the conversation. That’s powerful '

We’re really grateful to have Amber as part of our training team and can’t wait for the impact they’ll continue to make with young people and boards alike.
