Trustees’ Week is just around the corner, kicking off on Monday 4th November!
It’s our yearly moment to celebrate the power of intergenerational voices in creating better, more innovative, and impactful charity governance.
All week, we’ll be sharpening our skills, connecting with fellow movement members, and diving into what it means to be a trustee.

Using Young Trustees Movement’s Conversations Toolkit to create a Diverse, Inclusive and Effective Boardroom
Boards thrive when they can take practical and meaningful action to innovate for greater diversity, inclusion and belonging.
Our Conversations Toolkit supports trustees and board stakeholders to hold constructive conversations that enable this to happen. This means boards and the causes they support are better able to: navigate uncertainty, make future-proofed decisions and reflect the interests of their communities.
In this session we’ll discuss the purpose of YTM’s Conversations Toolkit, best practice and research underpinning it, and how you can use it in the boardroom.

The Conversations Toolkit:
- Guides boards through our 5 step process to identify and act on parts of their working culture that could be adapted to be more inclusive, in a way that is neither judgemental nor overwhelming
- Supports boards to build the muscle of creating change, to be clear on how inclusion is at the centre of good practice, how to practically work through barriers, and innovate towards better governance.
Model Boardroom Series Training Drop-In
Are you interested in governance? Do you want to learn about being a trustee? Are you an aspiring or current trustee under 30?
Our Model Boardroom Series presents mock boardroom situations, teaching you how to think like a trustee and engage with governance.

Come along to just one or both of our drop-in sessions during Trustees Week on Wednesday and Friday between 12-1pm.

YTM's Champions Training
When 1/12 trustees are named either John or David and fewer than 3% of trustees are under 30. It’s no secret that board diversity is an issue. Join us in changing that. The first step is attending this workshop.
By the end of our 1 hour workshop you will:
- Be able to articulate and understand how young trustees can enable organisations to navigate uncertainty, future proof decisions and reflect the interest of their communities .
- Have a framework to understand how to approach diversity on boards.
- Be able to run a session with a board to plan practical and achievable next steps.
