Trustees’ Week Working Group – Applications Now Open

Omolola Daniel

05 May 2026

We’ve been changing boardrooms since 2019. For Trustees’ Week (9-13 November), we need your help to take our work to the next level. If you’re aged 18-30, have a connection to London, and are passionate about youth-led action, read on.

Our hopes for Trustees’ Week 2026

We want charity boards to reflect the society they serve. Diverse leadership isn't a nice bonus; it should be the standard. Our hope is that this Working Group moves the charity sector closer to being truly representative – by helping people to learn, collaborate, and celebrate young leadership.

And how exactly will it achieve that? Well, that could be up to you. This event is designed to be by young people, for young people.

The role of Working Group members

We’re looking for four people aged 18 to 30 to help bring the event to life. This means:

  • Sharing ideas with the group and facilitator, mostly via remote meetings and emails
  • Planning an event that showcases the power of young trustees
  • Connecting with stakeholders and partners across London
  • Reporting back on how milestones are worked towards and achieved
  • Budgeting to make the most of resources
  • Sharing the event with your networks

You might be a good fit for the role of Trustees’ Week Working Group if you:

  • Want more young people in leadership roles
  • Believe in our values (e.g. disruption and collaboration, justice and inclusion)
  • Work well collaboratively as well as independently
  • Can commit to the project from June to November

Thanks to funding from the City Bridge Foundation – meaning our focus is on Greater London – we’re able to offer £25 per hour for a total of 21 hours per member.

How to apply for the role

Crucially, you don’t have to be a trustee to apply. You might even be taking your first steps into researching governance.

If you care about better boardrooms, we'd love to hear from you – especially if you bring a different perspective or lived experience that can help shape an inclusive, creative event
