Calling people under 30 in our movement and beyond!
We need your insights, to help us decide on our movement goals in the coming years.
Since 2019 we’ve been working across the charity sector to challenge the norm of governance and champion the role of young people in decision-making spaces. With your help and collaboration, we’ve become a small but mighty movement creating ripples across the sector.
Now in 2024, we want to reflect on where we’ve been, what our learning is and where we want to go.
This is where you come in. We’re inviting young people under the age of 30 to join us for an interactive conversation where you’ll have a chance to contribute to the Young Trustees Movement strategy in the coming years.
The conversation will be facilitated by young people and you’ll have an opportunity to connect with like-minded peers.
Who can join?
Anyone under 30. You can be an aspiring, current or young trustee or be new to trusteeship entirely.
What do I need to prepare?
Nothing! All we ask is for you to show up and be open to contributing in whatever way feels good for you. That could be verbally, writing in the chat, just listening.

Price: Free
A free 1 hour workshop that will leave you equipped to champion diversity on boards. This is held monthly, with new dates regularly added.
About this event: When 1/12 trustees are named either John or David and fewer than 3% of trustees are under 30. It’s no secret that board diversity is an issue.
Join us in changing that. The first step is attending this workshop.
By the end of our 1 hour workshop you will:
- Be able to articulate and understand how young trustees can enable organisations to navigate uncertainty, future proof decisions and reflect the interest of their communities .
- Have a framework to understand how to approach diversity on boards.
- Be able to run a session with a board to plan practical and achievable next steps.
Thanks to our funders we can offer this workshops for free. Please note we cap tickets so that we can make these sessions meaningful - if you book your ticket please be mindful of this.
This event will be held on Zoom and you will receive the login details in a confirmation email. If you need any support registering for, or accessing, the event please contact hello@youngtrusteesmovement.org.
