YHA (England & Wales) is recruiting new Trustees to guide us through an exciting and challenging period of transformation. We’re looking for people who believe in our mission, can bring fresh perspective, and want to help increase access to the outdoors, nature and heritage.

Whether you’re an experienced leader or taking your first steps into governance, we’d love you to take a look at the opportunity.

As a Trustee, you’ll prepare for and take part in Board meetings, asking important questions to help make key decisions. You’ll share legal responsibility for the charity.

We particularly seek Trustees:

• Who will work in the best interests of the community and our charitable objectives.
• Who understand the value of providing facilities for children and young people, particularly in enabling them to engage in arts, crafts, culture and wellbeing activities.

We are looking for people who care about improving outcomes for children and young people and who want to contribute positively to the future of Young Southampton.

We welcome applications from both experienced Trustees and people considering a governance role for the first time.

The Basement Project is seeking new Trustees to join our Board at an exciting point in our development.

For over 27 years, we've supported young people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or facing challenges that threaten their ability to live independently. Now, as we expand our focus on prevention and early intervention, we're looking for passionate and committed people to help shape our future.

We are looking for 2-3 trustees skills/experience of: Digital and data Health and local authority systems and policy Asset-based approaches such as participation and co-production.

You do not need to have all of these.

To support our work we are looking for two new young people (under 25) to join our Board of Trustees.

As a Trustee you will be joining a successful charity with an exciting Board that is working on our new strategy, launched in October 2025, that builds on our work exploring how we can help to create a home at university for all estranged and care experienced students, not just those on our scholarship.

Our scholarship population is overly represented in all areas where the mainstream student population is under-represented; including disability, mental health, class, race, ethnicity, faith, gender and sexuality. Currently the rich and diverse nature of our student population is not reflected in our board. We welcome interest from people who have lived experience of care or estrangement and would actively encourage people who have never held Trustee roles to apply.

Our meetings are held every 3 months, either online or in London. We will cover expenses that you incur in joining the meetings. Our meetings are currently held from 4-6pm, but we can be flexible to accommodate your schedule, alongside that of our other Board members. There is normally some ad-hoc activity outside of meetings, no more than 1-2 hours a month that you can fit around your other commitments.

We are looking for an individual with experience of charity finance. In addition, they should possess the following:

● Financial qualifications and experience

● Some experience of fundraising and pension schemes

● The ability to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences

● Being prepared to make unpopular recommendations to the board

● A willingness to be available to staff for advice and enquiries on an ad hoc basis

● Knowledge of artistic creation and/or education, in line with the charity’s passion for advancing visual storytelling and its mission to nurture learning and growth through creation

● Wider involvement with the third sector and other networks

Voluntary Action Camden is the Local Infrastructure Organisation for Camden, supporting its charities, social enterprises and faith groups since 1907. We’re looking for a new Treasurer, who will have experience in one or several of the following areas: • Professional Expertise; such as a similar previous role in finance or accountancy • Sector Knowledge; understanding of charity governance or the voluntary sector • Local Insight: an understanding of Camden’s diverse communities. The voluntary role is a great opportunity to bolster one’s experience in charity sector finance, work with a dedicated Board and staff team, and be a part of the work of one of Camden’s leading charitable organisations.
