Young people have so much to bring to the charity sector and governance but may not feel they have the experience, skills or knowledge to thrive in a trustee role. We offer a wide variety of training to help increase young people's confidence in these areas.

BECOMING A TRUSTEE: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Are you not sure what a trustee actually is, and what they do? This accessible, jargon-free session explains how charity governance works and is designed to give you the confidence to explore applying for a role, showing you how your unique perspective and strengths can help shape a charity's future.

Understanding Charity Finances

It can be daunting to be faced with a charity’s financial statements and not know how to read and understand them. If you’re a young trustee looking to feel more confident when it comes to financial accounts and budgets, this training is for you. Understanding Charity Finances is a supportive session designed to equip you with the practical skills you need to understand where your charity is at when it comes to money.

Board Boost - OUR Trustee Accelerator Programme

3 months | Online | £995.00

Board Boost is our trustee development programme that supports participants’ professional growth by equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to develop in their role. On top of six core learning modules, participants will be paired with a mentor who has experience of being a young trustee themselves and who will work with them on a project or area in which they’re hoping to develop. Board Boost’s blend of independent learning, mentoring and group work is designed to provide holistic support to young people who are ready to take the next step up in governance.

If you’re already a trustee and looking to increase your confidence and skillset amongst a group of young trustees like yourself, this training is for you.

Format

A 3-month blended learning programme featuring interactive online workshops, 1:1 online mentoring, and flexible sessions structured with regular breaks to support all learning styles.

Community Cafe

1 hour | Online | Free

While it's not a formal training session, our monthly online Community Café is a friendly drop-in space where you'll get the opportunity to meet young people who are trustees already or who are interested in becoming a trustee. It’s a great opportunity to share experiences, ask questions and get tips from your peers.

Format

Informal, drop-in online sessions designed to be low-energy, welcoming, and interactive, with plenty of space to chat at your own pace.
